1. Serious foot and ankle injuries will be visible. Look for swelling, inflammation or bruising.
2. On a pain scale of 1-10, if your pain is a 9 or a 10 with activity, there is a good chance you are injured.
3. Sharp, stabbing pain, burning, tingling, or numbness are all signs you need medical attention.
4. If you feel the same pain on day 3 as day 1, contact your podiatrist.
5. When the pain has mostly resolved but 2 weeks later you are not feeling 100%, make an appointment!
